This site opens onto reefs and is excellent snorkeling, although it is somewhat rocky. A stunning site is that of rainbow-hued fish swimming around an old sunken tugboat from long ago.
BEACHED TUG BOAT
This site lies protrudes above water and is great for beginner divers and snorkellers.
Depth: 20 feet
BLACK CORAL REEF
A good spot where a dive-master can point out the rare black coral that is difficult to recognize.
Depth: 70 feet
BLOOD BAY REEF
Fishermen fi sh here but sometimes their bait attracts sharks, which swim away when approached. There are small caves in the area, which is home to coral, sea fans, anemones, and bristle worms.
Depth: 60 to 80 feet
BRASSBALL WRECK
Large schools of snappers and jacks thrive in this channel.
Depth: 25 Feet
THE CAVES
Located north of Charlestown, under the west coast of Nevis, these caves are coral grottos, which allow divers to swim through holes and still be close to open water. You can view squirrel fish, barracuda and lobster.
Depth: 40 feet
COCONUT TREE REEF
Beginners and expert divers enjoy this reef which is one of the largest in the area.
Depth: Up to 200 feet
GRID IRON
This underwater sea shelf, located in the channel that separates St. Kitts & Nevis, rises within 25 feet to the surface, and harbors sponges, sea fans, corals and angelfish.
Depth: Up to 25 Feet
M.V. TALATA WRECK
Sunken in 1985, this freighter is great for the more experienced diver.
Depth: 70 Feet
MONKEY REEF
This fl at reef of soft and hard coral has an exposed circular bed of soft brown sand located off the western coast of
St. Kitts’ southeast peninsula. The edge of the reef is home to sting rays, lizard fish, lobsters and nurse sharks.
Depth: 50 Feet
NAGS HEAD
This site is highly recommended for experienced divers due to strong currents. Turtles, sea urchins, sting rays and assorted large fi sh make this reef home. Located on the south coast of St. Kitts.
Depth: Up to 80 Feet
PARADISE REEF
A Marine preserve located within the cannons of Brimstone Hill Fortress. Anchors, cannons and some relics can be found.
REDONDA BANK
This unexplored reef houses a variety of soft and hard corals and sea life.
RIVER TAW WRECK
Sunken some 10 years ago, this 144 x 70-feet freighter is great for beginners.
Depth: 50 Feet
THE ROCKS
This is a great multi-level site with visibility of 60 -100 feet.
Depth: 60 – 100 feet
SANDY POINT BAY
Giant basket sponges, eel, soft coral and variety of fish harbor around this reef.
Depth: 50 – 100 feet.
TUG BOAT
A fully intact tugboat can be found sitting at 65 feet. Off the bow section is a reef system.
