St. Kitts and Nevis’ beaches offer various options, from the intriguing black sand beaches on the northern side of the island to fi ne, white sand beaches. These are some of the popular locations to enjoy with family and friends. So, pack your cooler with lots of drinks, a bag of ice, lots of sunscreen and enjoy...

BANANA BAY
(SOUTH EAST PENINSULA)

This location is ideal to get away. This beautiful, secluded beach is at the very tip of the southeast peninsula and offers pristine waters, soft sand, swaying coconut trees and uninterrupted peace.

COCKLESHELL BAY
(SOUTH EAST PENINSULA)

Cockleshell Bay is 2 miles (3km) of power-white sand. This beach is growing in popularity for its serenity and breathtaking view of the sister isle of Nevis. All this coupled with the newly open Reggae Beach Bar & Grill and Spice Mill restaurants, both ready to cater to ‘beach goers’ after a relaxing swim.

SOUTH FRIARS BAY
(SOUTH EAST PENINSULA)

So called because there once was a Monastery located on the hillsides over looking the beach centuries ago. Today this white sand beach is frequented by locals and visitors. It is also perfect for quiet reflection.

DIEPPE BAY

On the northern part of the island, this beach overlooks the delineation of water where the Atlantic and Caribbean meet. It boasts soft volcanic black sand and is set against a backdrop of gently swaying palms.

SANDY BANK BAY
(SOUTH EAST PENINSULA)

Sandy Bank Bay is below North Friars’ and North Frigate Bay and, rather unusually for the Atlantic side, is relatively sheltered. It is also the model of isolation - a long, crescent-shaped white sand beach, great for a stroll and a swim. No restaurants or bars in sight.

FRIGATE BAY
(NORTH & SOUTH)

This beach was made for a good book, parasol and a cold drink. With loads of water-sports and other beach activities on offer, Frigate Bay, with its sugarcoloured sand, is ideal for swimming as well as windsurfing and water-skiing.

CADES BAY BEACH

This beach is known for a good swim. It is the place where people can get away and enjoy the beach bars and restaurants. Another plus is that the sand is unusually fine.

NEWCASTLE AREA

Located near the airport and not far from Nisbet are several small beaches with offshore reefs that are great for snorkeling.

PINNEY’S BEACH

This narrow stretch of sand runs for nearly four miles making it the longest beach on the island. It is ideal for running, picnicking among coconut groves, horseback riding or just relaxing.

OUALIE BEACH

A sheltered cove, this is another spot known for a great swimming experience. It is ideal for all members of the family including kids. It is very shallow for up to 50 feet from the shore. It is also known for activities such as fishing, windsurfi ng, diving, volleyball, sailing and spectacular sunsets.
